Greetings from Argentina!! Recently time I began to make movies in Super 8. In order to make the transference to video, if you are possessor of a computer with a board of video capture (for example Miro DC-30 Plus) and a camcorder, you can make a very good transference of the following way: connect your camcorder to the video entrance of the capture board, projects the film on a small white surface (for example very fine grain paper).Try to synchronize the projector with the camcorder (varying the projector speed until the blinking disappears). capture the images in archives AVI. In order to improve the quality of the obtained images, utilize the Premiere Adobe tools in the following way: a) Sharpen More b) Flicker Removal
Sometimes is necessary to make this process more of once, but the result is amazing, the details and the grain appear defined and the image appears more contrasted. People tell me It looks like 16 mm transfer!!
Try it.
Greetings, Carlos

Hello from New York!
Thank for the advice. I am new to this, so I have some more questions.
I have a minidv camcorder - I assume that it will work just as well if I make the transfer first to minidv and then later to the computer.
1. Also, I am wondering about the quality of the projector. I did some test transfers at home, and there seems to be a lot of flicker (if that's the right term for a constant pulsating look on the picture). In addition, the outside edges of the picture are darker than the inside. Is that normal - or a sign that I need a better projector with a brighter bulb?
2. How far should the camcorder be? Does it make a difference whether zoom is being used etc? - and exactly how small should the original image be?
3. If the movies are old, are there things to do to clean them etc. to improve the quality?
thanks!
Alex
